We rely on public generosity to enable us to stop New Zealanders dying prematurely from heart disease.
The good news is, together we’re making a very positive difference. Since our inception over 40 years ago, heart disease rates have fallen by approximately 70%. But despite the inroads, the numbers are still staggering. Heart disease remains the single biggest killer of men and women in New Zealand, claming one person every 90 minutes. It doesn’t have to be this way. As many heart related deaths are preventable, it’s vital we keep working to train cardiologists, fund research, promote healthy lifestyles and work closely with at-risk groups. Every bit helps and if you have the ability to make a donation in support of our life-saving work, we would be grateful.
We are a reputable charity with ethical fundraising and revenue-generating activities, managed to the highest standards of accountability. Our donor fundraising activities include a mix of support appeals, online donations, trusts, bequests and personal donor relationships. After fundraising costs, approximately 85% of donations go towards the Foundation’s work.
