








To be a healthy person it is important to ensure that what we put into our bodies is healthy. Eating healthy is all about balance, variety, moderation/control, regularity and daily practice!
The following healthy eating tips are some of the things that I practice everyday to ensure that both my heart and I stay healthy.
Eat moderate portions or control what you put into your mouth – knowing how much food (serving) from each food group I should eat on a daily basis helps me be mindful of how much I eat.
Snack the healthy way – I always take fruit or vegetable sticks to work or have nuts available to snack on only when needed. A handful of nuts a day is enough. This practice prevents me from snacking on unhealthy foods such as cake, biscuits, etc.
Prefer home cooked food – though it’s time consuming I always cook my meals as I can control how I cook them as well as the amount of fats, salt and sugar going into them.
