Heart healthy eating encourages us to check how we choose, prepare and eat our foods. It shows us how to increase the foods we need to protect our hearts, and to reduce the foods we don't need.

After having read through this, if you have further interest in learning more about food and nutrition you may want to consider enrolling yourself in one of two courses the Heart Foundation currently promotes, the Certificate in Pacific Nutrition or The Open Polytechnic of New Zealand's Food and Nutrition Certificate.
