Cardiovascular Risk Management
The Heart Foundation has delivered cardiovascular risk assessment training to approximately 2500 primary health professionals. In development is a more comprehensive training package with a focus risk management.
From 2007 to 2010 the Heart Foundation, supported by PHARMAC, has provided one-day training seminars for primary health care teams covering cardiovascular risk assessment and management. Over this period, as cardiovascular risk assessment work has progressed, the needs of primary health care teams have changed. The emphasis is now more focused on the effective management of risk and the Heart Foundation is presently developing a training programme in line with this.
