              This booklet is designed as an aid for the health professional to use with the patient to assess their risk of developing cardiovascular disease.

A Guide to Heart Healthy Eating [PDF 804.37kb]
              Based on the 'nine steps' for heart healthy eating, this booklet is an eating guide for people at risk or with cardiovascular disease and should be worked through with the patient.

The Heart Foundation Fat Kit
This teaching aid contains laminated photographs of commonly consumed fast foods with corresponding tubes indicating the fat content in each meal.
Teaching notes are included.

The Pacific Heartbeat Fat Kit
The kit contains seven, full colour, laminated photographs of commonly consumed Pacific foods with corresponding tubes filled with wax, representing the amount of fat in each food.

Active Hearts Exercise for Healthy Hearts DVD
This new DVD promotes the heart health benefits of being physically active. The DVD contains different exercise sessions, tips for keeping active and advice from a doctor and nutritionist.

Cookbooks
The Heart Foundation publishes a variety of heart healthy cookbooks ranging from recipes for those with busy lives to food for the under fives.

This interactive booklet has been written for people who have had a heart attack and for their families. It answers the questions commonly asked both during the hospital stay and following discharge home. It provides practical tips to help people along the road to recovery and to make lifestyle changes.

• Cardiac Rehabilitation Folder 
This folder is for cardiac rehabilitation nurses to give to the patient who has had a heart event to place all their hospital, health and rehabilitation information in whilst in hospital. Order copies.

• HeartCare75 Low Daily Dose Aspirin ( 6 x 30s packs 6 months supply)
The Heart Foundation recommends the use of aspirin 75mg as a standard treatment for people with a known history of heart or blood vessel disease and particularly for those who have had a heart attack or stroke.

Cardiac Rehabilitation Association of New Zealand
Heart Guide Aotearoa - Heart Guide Aotearoa is a home based programme of rehabilitation. The programme is being piloted by five Maori health providers in the upper North Island. Each kaitono has a Heart Coach visiting homes to develop personal goals and give support through a three-month programme focussed on improving and maintaining healthy lifestyle changes. The project aims to provide a home-based service to those who would not otherwise receive hospital based services.
