Pacific Heartbeat aims to reduce the high rates of heart disease in Pacific communities, by encouraging and supporting Pacific people and communities to make positive lifestyle changes.
Pacific Heartbeat was established by the Heart Foundation in 1991, twenty years on, the Pacific Heartbeat national team, based in Auckland and Wellington, offers Pacific heart health advice that is appropriate and relevant to the cultures, customs and lifestyles of Pacific peoples living in New Zealand.

Pacific Heartbeat works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to raise awareness of Pacific health needs, and to identify ways to make it easier for Pacific people to access healthy eating and stop smoking services. One of the ways Pacific Heartbeat endeavours to improve Pacific heart health is through the distribution of its national Pacific Heart to Heart newsletter that captures stories of our course graduates, and provides heart health information to the Pacific communities and Pacific Heartbeat stakeholders.
