Fulfil a lifetime

Pacific Heart to Heart - Issue 5 December 2010

Fakaalofa lahi atu and welcome to Pacific Heart to Heart.

In this edition Tau Tala Pasifika talks about the Asia Pacific Conference on Tobacco and Health (APACT) in Sydney and the Tobacco Free Aoteaoroa conference and introduces Tala Pasifika’s special guest Clinical Associate Professor Matthew Peters, Chairman ASH Australia and the launch of Kaute Pasfika’s research report.

The Soloman Island ‘wantok’ were at the 2010 adidas Auckland Marathon.  What is a ‘wantok’?  You will have to read the article for that!  Also out and about have been Pacific Heartbeat in the parks they have recently been around Massey in West Auckland, Northcote on Auckland’s North Shore and around the Wellington region.

More importantly we get to meet two of our Pacific community leaders as well as learn how we can improve our health by ‘doing it for yourself’ as well as catch up on some latest research around Pacific young people, puberty and Zinc defiency.

This warmer weather is also a good time to try out the light and delicious fish recipe.  Don’t forget to check out where Pacific Heartbeat courses will be held near you in 2011.

The Pacific Heartbeat team send you Seasons Greetings for a joyous Christmas and wish you, your families and colleagues a Happy New Year for 2011.

Ia manuia le Kirisimasi ma le Tausaga fou!!
