







We have worked with curriculum advisors to develop four inquiry based learning plans for levels 1 - 4 based on the following 4 topics.
The Heart Foundation is delivering professional development workshops for teachers during the month of March. The workshops aim to unpack our four new inquiry based learning unit plans for levels 1-4. These units are linked with the curriculum and show teachers how they can use nutrition education to assist students meet numeracy and literacy national standards.
The resources have the following themes:
Level 1: Edible Gardens - use your school's edible garden as the basis of inquiry.
Level 2: Food as Fuel - use the 2012 London Olympics and the importance of sports nutrition to teach key nutrition messages
Level 3: Breakfast is for Champions - raise the awareness of the importance of breakfast at your school.
Level 4: Fast Food Sporsorhip of Athletes - discuss the influence of athletes endorsing fast food through the media
