The Heart Foundation is New Zealand’s heart health charity. Our vision is hearts fit for life, for this generation and the next. Research, education, prevention and quality care underpin the work we do.

The Education team is responsible for developing, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating a range of school and early learning services based nutrition and physical activity initiatives and activities, delivered by our Nutrition Advisors throughout New Zealand. About our ideal candidate

As the Resource and Development Project Lead, your role will be varied with a strong project focus. In addition to your tertiary qualification in nutrition, you will have an engaging and curious personality, able to build quick rapport with a range of stakeholders at a national level.

You will know how to take the opportunities identified through your networking, into projects that deliver a measurable difference in reach and growth for the Heart Foundation’s work in schools and early learning services. Ideally with some knowledge of marketing and digital content development, you will have credible writing skills that enable content to be delivered for various audiences. Your internal and external stakeholders will include:

  • Heart Foundation Nutrition Advisor teams
  • Heart Foundation food and nutrition leads
  • Stakeholders at a national level within the health and education sectors
  • A diverse group of national agencies

About your skills and attributes

  • A tertiary qualification in Nutrition is essential
  • Experience working within the education/health sector
  • Understanding of socio-economic and cultural inequalities
  • Understanding and experience in resource development and programme marketing
  • Exposure to digital content for various channels
  • A self-starter, with an eager eye for opportunities and the ability to navigate ambiguity
  • An understanding of children's nutrition
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing and relationship building skills at all levels
  • Engaging and confident public speaker
  • Demonstrated experience in getting initiatives underway and delivering results
  • Proven project management ability (lead, plan, budget, coordinate and delivery)
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills (customer focussed with a “can do – will do” attitude)
  • Excellent communication skills (listening, written & verbal)
  • Intermediate+ Microsoft Office Suite and Client Relationship Management (CRM) database skills
  • A valid, clean full drivers licence
