Full o’ Beans free cookbook launched

Think it’s too expensive to eat healthy food?  Beans and legumes are here to prove you wrong.  They're packed full of goodness as well as being cheap, tasty and quick to use.

To help you get more beans and legumes into your meals, the Heart Foundation has created a free e-cookbook called Full o’ Beans.  The cookbook can be downloaded for free at the bottom of this page.

Full o’ Beans showcases family-friendly and affordable dishes like burger patties, casseroles, shepherd’s pie, filo rolls, soups and salads.

Beans and legumes such as kidney beans, chickpeas, soybeans, lentils and cannellini beans are a powerhouse of fibre, protein, phytochemicals, vitamins and minerals. They might also help improve cholesterol levels.

The Heart Foundation recommends we eat legumes 4-5 times each week. But we know legumes aren’t typically a big part of Kiwi diets (other than baked beans) so this cookbook is designed to show how to add them to meals. It puts a legume twist onto old Kiwi favourites, but also takes inspiration from Mexican, Italian, Middle Eastern, and Pacific dishes.

Download your free copy of the cookbook(PDF) to discover just how easy and tasty it is to be full of beans.
