We recommend all services start at Rito the founding level. Once the Rito award has been achieved you can choose between two other stages, Whānau or Pā-harakeke. Each award is made up of strands to complete with different themes.
The award names represent the harakeke metaphor. They reflect a continuous, sustainable, empowering journey of growth and development from a firm foundation. There are three award stages. We recommend starting with Rito and building and strengthening your practices up to Pā-Harakeke.
Rito, is the heart of the plant, where new beginnings start. It recognises commitment in founding a healthy eating and physical activity environment.
Whānau builds on the foundations set at Rito. It helps you build and strengthen existing healthy eating and physical activity foundations at your service.
