Do you work with Pacific people in New Zealand? Are you part of a workforce who cares about the health of its people? Our professional development workshops are designed to support your growth while helping you make a positive impact in your community.

As the Heart Foundation’s Pacific Heartbeat Team, we are dedicated to improving the heart health of Pacific communities in Aotearoa New Zealand.

We are a team of qualified trainers who deliver professional development workshops on Pacific cultural engagement, nutrition and heart health.

What workshops do you offer?

Workforce nutrition workshop

This workshop covers various nutrition topics, equipping you with the knowledge and skills necessary for effectively engaging with Pacific communities. Gain practical, culturally relevant nutrition tools and strategies to confidently support Pacific communities.

Workshop length: 

• Online - 2 hours
• In-person - 5 hours

Pacific cultural engagement

This workshop explores cultural perspectives on food, focusing on some Pacific dietary practices and their impact on health. It provides practical strategies for effectively engaging with Pacific communities to promote positive health outcomes.

How are the workshops run?

There are two options for attending our professional development training. You can join one of our upcoming workshops or we can deliver a session tailored for your workplace.

Tailored workshops

Our training team will collaborate with you to design a suitable workshop for your workplace. It can be delivered either in person or online. 

We require a minimum of 15 people and a maximum of 30. 

On completion, you will receive a Pacific Heartbeat Certificate of Attendance.  

Please note, we can deliver the workshop at the Heart Foundation or, alternatively, you will need to organise a venue which meets our requirements.

Cost: $40 per person.
