This position statement summarises the key findings and recommendations from the Heart Foundation’s evidence paper, ‘Eggs and the Heart’, which was issued in January 2016.

Based on current evidence, the Heart Foundation has made a prudent recommendation that New Zealanders who are at increased risk of heart disease can eat up to six eggs per week as part of a heart-healthy diet.
