Pacific community nutrition course

Want to learn what's in the food you eat? We will teach you how to understand nutrition information so you'll be able to plan cheap and tasty meals for you, your family, friends and wider community. Find out how you can register for the Pacific community nutrition course.

The Pacific community nutrition course is for people working with Pacific families and communities. A basic level of spoken English is helpful as most training is in the English language (unless specifically requested).

$15 per person covers costs related to course workbooks, resources, morning and afternoon tea.

The nutrition course can be tailored to best suit the needs of your group regardless of where you are in New Zealand. A minimum of 15 to a maximum of 25 people is required to run a course. We are happy to discuss with you a training package that will best suit your needs.

Please note - a venue which meets our requirements must be organised by the group requesting training.

What will I learn?

  • What Pacific peoples' health looks like
  • Role of food choices in Pacific health
  • Simple and practical ways to improve Pacific peoples' health

This course is 'hands on'. You’ll discover ways of taking nutrition information and using it in everyday life.

We cover a range of topics over one or two days. We can also tailor topics based on the needs of your group.

You will receive a Pacific Heartbeat Certificate of Completion after completing the course.
